Active Learning

Here is a quote quoted by Dale Carnegie that is particularly applicable to passing a PMP certification exam or any other difficult cert exam:

will never learn." Shaw was right. Learning is an active process. We
learn by doing. So, if you desire to master the principles you are
studying in this book, do something about them. Apply these rules at
every opportunity. If you don't you will forget them quickly. Only
knowledge that is used sticks in your mind.

BAs often are like PMs

BAs - Business Analysts - are often, as I've seen in my vast experience in corp. America, just "lean" Project Managers (PMs), who, with a little effort can be certified as PMPs. The disciplines overlap to a great extent. Several knowledge areas are extremely similar. I think that given the post 2008 market crash of 2008 created a leaner job market, many employers who hire BAs really want that person to be more of a PM in the role. So if that seems like you, then take advantage of your experience and get PMP certified. The cert requirements are similar, but the PMP (IMHO) is more valuable and gives you more upward mobility.
